Getting Started in the 2017-2018 Award Year

This page contains general information and forms that may be required of you in order to be eligible for financial aid. Please complete only the forms that the Financial Aid Office requests from you. All forms on the Learner Portal are PDF's that can be completed and signed electronically. In order for this functionality to work, you must first download the form to your desktop and then re-open it to complete it.

If you have not yet completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), please go to and complete the 2017-2018 FAFSA. The Azusa Pacific University Federal School Code is 001117.

Any questions you may have in completing the FAFSA can be answered by FAFSA at 1-800-4FED-AID (1-800-433-3243)


In order to electronically sign your FAFSA, students and parents will need to apply for an FSA ID#. Please visit to create your FSA ID#.

2017-2018 Cal Grant Information

If required, the Cal Grant Transfer Entitlement request will be requested directly from the California Student Aid Commission.  If University College is required to perform a secondary confirmation, the following form will be required.  Do not complete this form unless you are asked to do so.

Federal Direct Master Promissory Note, Federal Direct Loan Entrance Counseling and Parent PLUS Loan Application and Master Promissory Note

If you choose to take out Federal Direct Loans, the Federal Direct Master Promissory Note and Federal Direct Loan Entrance Counseling can be completed at will need your FSA ID and Password to log in. 

If you are a dependent student and one of your parents is considering applying for the Parent PLUS Loan, they will need to complete the Parent PLUS Loan Application and Parent PLUS Master Promissory Note at

Accept or Decline the Federal Direct Loans

University College has a “passive acceptance” policy in regards to the Federal Direct Loans.  That means we assume you are accepting the full amount of your award unless you tell us otherwise.  If you would like to decline all or a portion of your award, please complete and submit to the Loan Reduction Form.  Federal Direct Loans are funds that must be repaid. We encourage all students to borrow wisely and only borrow what is needed to cover their tuition charges.

2017-2018 Verification Required – Campus Logic

The Department of Education has identified your application for a selection process called verification. In order for the financial aid office to determine your eligibility for federal student aid for the current award year, you must complete the verification process. The purpose of the verification process is to validate the accuracy of your FAFSA data. University College is partnering with Campus Logic to help you complete the verification process. 

Some helpful tips from Campus Logic:

  • Campus Logic will send an email to the email address you listed on your FAFSA. The email will tell you what information you need to submit to complete the verification process.
  • Watch for emails from Campus Logic with instructions on what you need to do to complete the process. You are only asked for information we need from you. Please follow the instructions carefully.
  • You will complete most or all of your verification at You will also upload any required documents online.
  • PLEASE NOTE:  Currently the data retrieval tool (IRS-DRT) to transfer your tax information from the IRS to the FAFSA is not available. If chosen for verification, please request a Tax Return Transcript at
  • You can track your verification status on

Finally, DON’T DELAY! The faster you respond to requests from Campus Logic, the faster you complete verification and the faster your financial aid can be awarded.

FAFSA Conflicting Information

If you are chosen for the FAFSA Conflicting Information you will see an outstanding document on your missing document letter and on your Learner Portal that says “FAFSA Conflicting Information.” 

  • If you are an independent student, please complete the Student FAFSA Conflicting Information form. Please be sure to also submit any other required documents as listed on the form.
  • If you are a dependent student, please complete the Student FAFSA Conflicting Information form and your parent will need to complete the Parent FAFSA Conflicting Information form.  Please be sure to also submit any other required documents as listed on the form.

If any of the documents listed below are showing as outstanding on your missing document letter or on your Student Portal and it says “Campus Logic” after the document, please read what it says below and submit any required documentation to Campus Logic.   Please create an account, and submit all requested documents to Campus Logic at  Once your counselor has verified your documents and verification is completed, the status will be updated to “Approved”.
